B lymphocytes (B cells)

B lymphocytes (B cells) are a type of adaptive immune cell derived from the bone marrow that are responsible for producing antibodies. Upon activation by antigens, they can differentiate into plasma cells (which secrete antibodies) or memory B cells for long-term immunity.
